Silicones: should we do without them?

Silicones are used in cosmetics, in particular in lipstick and haircare products. Charlotte Feltin, L’Oréal’s International Director of Haircare Products, explains that they are known to suffocate the hair and scalp, and that some of them have an unfavourable environmental profile. L'Oréal uses silicones at the right dosage, and prefers to use silicones that have a lower environmental impact.
