Parabens: what are they for?

Parabens are preservatives. Preservatives are very useful for protecting products and ensuring consumer safety. Sylvie Cupferman, L’Oréal’s International Director of the Microbiology, explains that without preservatives, bacteria would develop in the product, degrading its appearance and quality.Thanks to preservatives such as parabens, the shelf life of the products is several months. L'Oréal uses short chain parabens that are safe for health.
