YELLOW 6 LAKE [CI 15985 / YELLOW 6 LAKE]
Yellow 6 lake is a synthetic orange-yellow pigment made by precipitating the pigment Yellow 6 with an aluminium salt. This is known to render the pigment in-soluble in water, and so it is mostly used dispersed in oil and fat-based formulations, such as lipsticks.
