YELLOW 5 LAKE [CI 19140 / YELLOW 5 LAKE]
Yellow 5 lake is a synthetic yellow pigment produced by precipitating the pigment Yellow 5 with metal salts, in this case, aluminium. This renders it insoluble in water, and it is known to often be dispersed into powders or oily makeup such as lipstick to add colour.
